"The bard with the beard..."

In episode four "The Deer Hunter", Rory is having a hard time catching up at Chilton. She studies her adorable butt off for an upcoming test on Shakespeare... unfortunately, oversleeping and "kamikaze deer" force her to forfeit the opportunity to take the test. Our cool, level-headed Lorelai Jr. kinda loses her shit a little and Lorelai Sr. is called to speak to (or more accurately, yell at) "Il Duce" (aka Headmaster Charleston). This episode introduces future fiancé (and eventual gilted groom) Max Medina to our Gilmore girls... and so begins our glimpse into Lorelai's relationship dysfunction.
